Never Give Up: A 10-Year-Old Rider’s Story of Perseverance After a Setback
Hey guys,
I wanted to share with you something that happened to me recently. I just came back from the Gauteng showjumping champs, and to be honest, it didn't go so well for me. I didn't make the cut, and I felt pretty bad about it. I had been practicing for weeks, and I was really nervous on the day of the competition. I guess that's why my timing was off and I made some mistakes.
But you know what? I'm not gonna give up. Even though I didn't win, I still had fun doing what I love. I got to spend time with my horse, and I met so many other riders who share the same passion as me.
And you know what else? I learned a lot from this experience. I learned that it's okay to make mistakes, and that it's important to stay positive even when things don't go as planned. I learned that hard work and dedication really do pay off, even if it doesn't happen right away.
I know there will be more challenges ahead, and maybe next year I'll make the cut, but even if I don't, I'm still going to keep riding because it's something that brings me joy. And that's what really matters, right? Doing what you love, even if you don't always win.
So I guess what I'm trying to say is, don't give up on your dreams, guys. Whatever it is that you love to do, keep doing it. Even if you make mistakes or face setbacks, keep going. You never know what amazing things could be waiting for you just around the corner.
Thanks for reading my post!
Love,
A 10-year-old rider
